Massachusetts Legislative Days
What an amazing experience at Massachusetts Legislative Days! We made a huge impact, with one Legislator already offering to introduce legislation next year. Everyone did an amazing job, (but our work isn't over yet).
If you were able to attend MA Legislative Days, remember to send your Senator/Representative's Office a thank-you note for meeting with us. Handwritten notes are great, but an email works fine too. This is a great opportunity to keep the conversation going with your elected leaders in the Legislature.
If you are not sure what to say, here is an example-
Dear Senator/Representative & Staff:
On behalf of my family and our community, I would like to thank you for the opportunity to meet with your office. We know that you and your staff are very busy, and we are grateful that your office took the time to speak with us about issues that are important to the bleeding disorders community.
As you may recall, we brought up issues with step therapy and non-medical switching. While step therapy and non-medical switching can save money for insurers, they also can cause the bleeding disorder community needless and potentially harmful changes in treatment.
As always, if we can be of any assistance to your office in understanding the issues facing bleeding disorder community, please do not hesitate to reach out.
