NEBDAC Meets with Angus King (D-ME)

U.S. Senator Angus King (D-ME) asked to meet with patient groups in Maine recently, including NEBDAC, to discuss the high costs of pharmaceuticals. King was able to hear about the difficulties that bleeding disorder patients have obtaining their treatments from NEBDAC and patients in the community. Senator King discussed the End Taxpayer Subsidies for Drug Ads Act (S.2478*), introduced earlier this year by Sen. McCaskill, Sen. and which King recently cosponsored, but was open and curious about what else he could do. 

*S.2478 would prohibit pharmaceutical companies from deducting expenses relating to direct-to-consumer advertising of prescription drugs from their taxes. Here’s a link to the bill itself:
